British brand MG showed video readiness for production in India
May 7, 2019Already on May 15, the new luxury model MG Hector will be officially presented, which will go on sale in June of this year. Now at the new plant are testing the stages of the assembly of cars.
MG Hector is preparing for mass production. Conveyor lines are ready and undergo final adjustment and personnel training. MG is a British brand owned by SAIC, a Chinese conglomerate. The concern acquired the Halol GM plant, made a significant upgrade in accordance with its own needs and is preparing for the start of mass production.
The plant located in India received a new assembly line, a new body stamping workshop, a new body workshop, a new spare parts distribution center, a testing ground and a training center. All this was done within 18 months.
The plant allows the Chinese concern to increase the localization of its own models in the Indian market to 75%. Over the next six years, the modernization of the plant will continue, the capacity of the company should grow from 80,000 to 200,000 cars.
The first model of the factory MG Hector is already assembled at the factory. According to the company, the main competitors for it will be Tata Harrier and Jeep Compass.
