British Auto Show opens today in a new formatAugust 19, 2021
The British Auto Show opens its doors today, 19 August 2021, in a uniquely fresh format that will include a live stage, five test drives and even more cars than planned.
The final preparations for the Farnborough International auto show have been completed. The event will take place from August 19th to 22nd at the Hampshire Exhibition Center. The show officially opened at 10 a.m. with a performance by the British Army’s Lightning Bolts parachute team, which will be returning every day by noon Friday, Saturday and Sunday to descend from the skies into the live arena from a height of 6,096 meters.
The main part of the show will be the Live Stage organized by CAR SOS duo Tim Shaw and Fuzz Townsend. Automotive experts will interview a variety of celebrities and influencers, including TV personality Vicky Butler-Henderson, YouTube legend Yanni Haralambus, and BTCC driver Ash Sutton. Television columnist Mike Brewer will host the Live Arena. Paul Swift’s stunt team will demonstrate lateral and two-wheeled driving.
The highlight of the event will be a supercars parade, during which an amazing collection of the world’s most exotic cars will parade on the arena. The arena will also host a classic car parade. Each day of the event will conclude with a car football – the famous presentation of the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship final at the British Auto Show. Attendees will see Fiat and Mini models representing Italy and England.
One of the highlights of the event will be the Select Electric Motor Show, which will feature the latest in electric vehicles. More than 50 supercars are reported to be on display daily. The Automotive Careers Expo will run throughout the event and support a variety of employers and employees in the automotive sector.
“We’re really excited right now as the show begins its countdown,” says British Auto Show CEO Andy Entwistle. “Nowhere else can motorists and their families be able to enjoy such a wonderful day during the 2021 summer break.”
