Brandon Hartley handing out helmetsMarch 3, 2019
Brandon Hartley’s career as a Toro Rosso rider ended faster than he expected, but the New Zealander this year will not be without work.
First, he signed a contract with Ferrari and will work on the simulator team together with Pascal Wehrlein, Antonio Fuoco and David Rigon, second, he will conduct two stages of WEC in the Russian team SMP Racing, replacing Jenson Button.
But today, Brandon shared on Instagram a curious photo, a comment on which is even more interesting. To begin with, it is worth recalling that Hartley uses the racing helmets manufactured by Bell Racing.
“I just received a big parcel from Bell, which arrived in time for the start of the season in Formula 1. But, in my opinion, they did not get the information that this year I am not performing in F1, and most importantly – these helmets for me are small! – Writes Brandon. – Since I live in a regular apartment, I don’t have enough space (besides, I’m a tall guy!), So I distribute 8 of them.
Leave your comment, and I will choose which of you to send them. I really appreciate the support that I received from you last year – you are great!
And literally in a couple of weeks, I am waiting for the race in Sebring, so the mood is not bad! ”
Here is the conclusion that suggests: I suppose, Hartley really until the last moment believed that his career in Formula 1 would continue in 2019, so he ordered these miniature copies of his last year’s helmet. In any case, even if in the new season we don’t see Brandon in the paddock of the World Cup, these mini-helmets are a great souvenir for fans.
