Bosch will save motorcycles from falling with help of “jet engines”May 21, 2018
The company Bosch is working on an experimental technology that will prevent the fall of the motorcycle with the loss of traction of the wheels with the road. To align the bike, it is suggested to use miniature “jet engines”.
The degree of danger of demolition of the wheels will be determined automatically, using special sensors. If the motorcycle begins to lose traction, the system will throw a jet of compressed air through the nozzle in the “upper” part, creating a return thrust that returns the wheel to the desired trajectory.
In this case, you can only use the system once, like a safety airbag. In addition, it is quite complex, and so far the company can not guarantee its smooth operation.
Previously, Bosch introduced a new technology that will significantly reduce the level of nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions from diesel engines. The company believes that using an active thermal control, it is possible to maintain the optimum temperature in the EGR system, reducing the NOx emission level to 13 milligrams per kilometer, with a current limit of 168 milligrams.
