Bollinger unveils new chassis for electric SUVsMarch 13, 2020
Bollinger Motors introduced a patented electronic chassis that will serve as the basis for B1 and B2 SUVs.
Positioned as “the world’s first and only Class 3 electric platform,” the E-Chassis is a heavy-duty architecture designed for commercial use.
The company did not give too much details about its platform, but noted that it is “fully customizable” and can be offered with front, rear and all-wheel drive. The architecture can also be adapted for various wheelbases. Thanks to this flexibility, the platform is universal. The automaker did not go into details, but confirmed that in addition to B2 there are plans for “other trucks”.
Among the features – the ability to install batteries with a capacity of 120 and 180 kWh, a load capacity of 2,268 kg, an integrated temperature control system and an independent front and rear suspension.
It also has a hydropneumatic self-leveling suspension, electronic traction and stability control, as well as an integrated charger from 5 to 15 kW.
According to CEO Robert Bollinger, “when we first created our Class 3 B1, we knew that the platform had potential for commercial use.” He added: “Even the largest truck bodies can fit on our platform.”
