BMW X8 may be presented next yearNovember 2, 2019
There is no official confirmation of this information yet. However, a new BMWBlog report mentions a possible crossover readiness by the end of next year.
On the eve there was information that BMW is working on a high-profile novelty – the X8 crossover. There was no official confirmation from the automaker. However, a new BMWBlog report mentioned that approval was given for the development of the car. Estimated release date – end of next year. True, it’s hardly necessary to talk about the production version yet – most likely, we can see the concept car. The same situation was with the 3-Series and Concept 4-Series Coupe.
Given the name of the model, the car body should be a coupe-crossover, as is the case with the X4 and X6.
It is estimated that the cost of the car will be higher than that of the X7 SUV. It’s still premature to talk about the motor range, but there are already rumors about a “charged” version of the X8 M, which can receive a power unit from the younger model X6 M. In this case, a 4.4-liter V8 engine with two turbines and a 600 hp output will be installed on the novelty. However, a more interesting option would be with the V12 engine, which nevertheless has the right to life.
Previously, BMW management announced that front-wheel-drive cars will not have versions with the M index. These models include the 1-Series, 2-Series Gran Coupe and X1 and X2 crossovers.
