BMW X7 will receive a hydrogen engine in 2023November 11, 2019
BMW X7 will be positioned as an electric SUV, but with the advantages of a hydrogen engine. With such a tandem, the novelty will receive a wide ecological range.
The largest and most luxurious member of the X family in the BMW lineup – the BMW X7 – debuted a year ago. The flagship of the brand in the SAV segment (Sport Activity Vehicle) was enthusiastically accepted by the audience, after which it began to be sold safely around the world. At the same time, despite the popularity of the new product, the brand seriously thought about its future. The media reported that the Bavarian company is going to bet on hydrogen technology.
So, according to the Spanish automotive portal motor.es, BMW will try its hand at hydrogen technology, along with specialists from Toyota, who managed to gain solid experience in this area.
The new power plant is predicted to appear on the model in 2023. It is noted that the brand will offer customers X7 with an electric drive and a hydrogen installation, which will act as an alternative energy source. All this will distinguish the model from the competition. Due to such an upgrade, the hydrogen X7 will most likely be left without a third row of seats, turning into a five-seater car.
