BMW will start selling parts for a still unreleased modelNovember 10, 2020
Bavarian cars have earned the reputation of being rather unreliable and often breaking, but now the automaker itself has decided to reinforce this stereotype, since an advertisement for the sale of spare parts for an unreleased model has appeared on the network.
We’ve been talking about the M5 CS in just over two years, and BMW has yet to unveil a production version of the car. However, this is expected to happen in the very near future, since a new report from the Bimmer Post says that production of the new product will begin in March 2021. lasts only until February 2022. This means that the model will be limited, like the previously debuted M2 CS and M4 CS.
The power plant of the novelty will be about 617 horsepower, as in the M5 Competition. According to foreign media reports, the model will receive carbon fiber seats, bespoke wheels and slightly more carbon fiber on the body. The range of options includes ceramic brakes, as well as a carbon fiber roof, which will reduce the weight of a heavy car.
But what is interesting is that despite the sales of the M5 CS that have not yet been launched, someone from Poland is already selling parts. In the description for the ad, it is indicated that the parts were taken from a disassembled car, which leads us to think of a pre-production prototype. Ironically, judging by the orange side markers on the front bumper, the car appears to have been built for US certification.
The seller mentions that these parts can be put on a pre-styled M5, which is not too surprising. The dashboard appears to be wrapped in Alcantara. A production-ready vehicle is sure to be equipped with the latest digital gauges, an iDrive display and an M.
