Last week the company registered a trademark for iX3, which will join the already well-known i-series of electrified models and become part of the line from iX1 to iX9. Under the name iX3 will be produced fully electric version of the crossover BMW X3. This is reported by the publication AutoExpress.
The Germans are not just starting their lineup of electric crossovers with the iX3. In fact, the BMW X3 is the best-selling SUV from the company. The world premiere of this novelty is to be held in 2019. Following him, the electric model of the BMW i5 sedan will be on the market. This will happen in 2020. Its concept has already been shown under the name Vision Dynamics. Electrical novelties will be required to provide a minimum of 25 percent of total sales by 2025.
At the nearest international motor show in Los Angeles the nearest electrified novelty – BMW i8 Roadster will be presented. The hybrid cabriolet will receive a new battery pack for 14 kWh, which is twice as powerful as the BMW i8 coupe. Thus, the roadster will increase the power reserve on one electric traction. It is also expected that the total power of the power plant will be more than 400 horsepower.
