BMW will release a liftback for competition with Audi RS3February 2, 2018
The company BMW is working on a 2-series elevator, which will receive a “charged” M-version. This modification will compete with the sedan Audi RS3 and Mercedes-AMG CLA 45, according to Autocar.
The BMW M2 Gran Coupe will be on sale in 2019. The BMW model will have a longitudinally located engine and a rear-wheel drive. It will also receive a motor from the M2 coupe – a three-liter in-line turbo-six. The output of the engine will be 370 horsepower (465 Nm). He will work in pairs either with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic transmission with two clutches.
The range of BMW M2 engines of uncharged versions will consist of three- and four-cylinder units with capacity 1.5 and 2.0 liters. The hybrid version of the liftback – 225e Gran Coupe – will receive a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor installed in the transmission unit. On electric power, such a car can travel up to 50 kilometers.
At the same time it was previously reported that the 2 series liftback will be built on the front-wheel drive platform UKL, which underlies the MINI models, the Active Tourer compact car, and the X1 and X2 crossovers.
