BMW will present a small electric crossover iX1August 13, 2020
After the debut of the electric BMW iX3, it became clear that the Bavarian automaker will also release other eco-friendly cars that are currently in vogue.
In the future, BMW plans to show electric hatchbacks and the iX1, which will also receive an electric motor. In addition, the German concern is going to develop compact coupes and electric cars from the Mini sub-brand.
The new iX1 will receive a battery with a capacity of 76 kW / h, which provides a range of about 450 km, and the power of the electric motor will be 200 hp. A simpler version with a 38 kWh battery will also be offered, which will allow you to travel up to 200 km on a single charge. The BMW iX1 will be offered in five different versions with two or one unit, depending on the type of drive.
Visually, the exterior of the compact Bavarian crossover with an electric motor will be made in the style of the “big brother” iX3. Accordingly, there will be an imitation of a radiator grill and blue elements indicating that this is an environmentally friendly model. The interior will probably be different, even if it also comes with a digital panel. In addition, environmentally friendly materials are expected to be used in the interior.
BMW plans to sell more than 7 million electrified vehicles over the next 10 years. By 2023, 25 electric models are expected to appear, about 10 of which will be fully electric. The BMW i3 and BMW iX3 electric cars will be followed by the i4 (in 2021) and the electric 3-Series (2022), with the i5 and i7 slated to start in 2023.
