BMW will introduce the racing BMW M2 CS RaceingFebruary 1, 2020
In addition to winning the Rolex 24 class, BMW also unveiled one of its latest race cars, which will hit the road in America next year. This is the BMW M2 CS Racing, which will succeed the M235i Racing and M240i Racing, which compete in the TC America series.
The car is based on the road M2 CS with a very similar body, up to the carbon fiber roof, but with aerodynamic devices, including the rear wing and splitters. Under the hood, there is again a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six, but for TC America it is less than 444 horsepower of the street M2 CS. Power ranges from 280 to 365 horsepower depending on the performance balance settings for each race. For customers who plan to race in various club series, BMW will offer the M2 CS Racing version, which has a horsepower of 450 horsepower.
A seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox is connected to the engine, which gives power back. At the rear is a mechanical limited slip differential, which has its own cooling system. The car also comes with a full range of adjustable suspension components, more powerful brakes, carriage and other safety features.
Prices have not been announced for the United States, but the European price is 95,000 euros. Cars will be available to teams by 2021 in the TC America season. The car will compete in the TC class between the lower TCA and the higher TCR. His rivals in this class are the new Honda Civic Type RTC, as well as the Nissan 370Z and Hyundai Genesis Coupe.
