BMW will have a new M-crossover and mid-engined supercarJuly 1, 2019
The company is considering the possibility of expanding the current line of M-models
BMW is considering various expansion options for the M and M Performance line. So, the family of “charged” cars can be replenished with a 400-hp 1 Series, X8 M crossover and a mid-engine supercar based on the concept of Vision M Next.
The reborn M1 may well become the most interesting M-novelty: the mid-engine coupe in the spirit of Vision M Next will be released in a limited edition and may receive an open version. In addition, BMW is thinking about the release of unique cars that were not previously present in the model range of the brand, and the hardcore versions of the current models with the CS – M2 CS index have already been announced and will appear next year.
The rival for the Audi RS3 and Mercedes-AMG A45 is 400-strong 1-Series. According to rumors that have appeared more than once, such a car will be equipped with a turbo four with water injection into the intake manifold, as on the M4 GTS, and an 82-horsepower electric motor. Compete with the Audi RS Q8 and Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 will be a 600-strong BMW X8 M.
Edition Autocar writes that the range of engines M-machines will consist of three units of different degrees of force: a two-liter turbo, updated row six of 3.0 liters and the new 4.0 V8.
