BMW to unveil BMW iNEXT production electric crossover at NEXTGen 2020November 4, 2020
German automaker BMW has announced the #NEXTGen 2020 online event to be held on November 11, 2020. Within its framework, a serial version of the BMW iNext electric crossover will be presented, as well as new items from the Motorrad motorcycle division and the Mini brand.
The concept of the flagship electric crossover BMW Vision iNEXT was presented two years ago, while no one has yet seen a pre-production version without camouflage.
The BMW iNext electric crossover will be based on the company’s new platform, while the exact parameters of power and range have not yet been announced (it is assumed that it will be about 200-300 kW of power and 400 km of range).
Earlier, the Germans promised that they would launch the crossover on the market in 2021, but we will probably hear a more accurate date in a week. It is also interesting that the manufacturer calls the model not SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle), but SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle), hinting at the corresponding capabilities of the new product.
Recall that in the spring of this year, the Germans showed the electric sedan BMW Concept i4 with a power of 530 hp, 80 kWh battery and a power reserve of 600 km, its production version will also enter the market in 2021.
