BMW showed the revived 8-Series on videoMay 21, 2018
BMW has published a teaser video, which shows a serial version of the revived 8-Series. The debut of the car will take place on June 15 as part of the 24-hour Le Mans marathon, and its European sales will start in November.
The new BMW 8-Series will be equipped with a 520-horsepower V8 gasoline engine. Other information about the engine is not yet available. According to Motor1, the capacity of this engine will be equal to 4.4 liters.
According to unofficial information, the charged version of the M8 will be equipped with an upgraded version of the engine from the new generation M5 sedan, which now develops 600 hp. From it, the coupe will get and the all-wheel drive system.
The new 8-Series will be built on the modular architecture of CLAR, which underlies the 5-Series and 7-Series models. The coupe will have a modification with an open body, and a variant with four doors, a prototype of which was shown in March at the Geneva Motor Show. A serial version of this car will be presented next year.
