BMW showed the first pre-production copy of the SUV X7December 20, 2017
The Bavarian brand in September introduced the concept of its flagship SUV X7, whose design caused a lot of controversy in the automotive environment. In the process of preparing for serial production, the press service of the brand published photos of the first pre-series copy.
The flagship BMW SUV will be manufactured at a plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA. The Germans do not say how many pre-production prototypes will be built, but they disclosed the information about the debut of the serial version of X7: it will happen in late 2018.
Pre-series cars for the next 12 months will undergo various tests, during which specialists will identify “childhood illnesses” in them. By the way, some tests will take place in the Valley of Death (Mojave Desert, California, USA) and Scandinavia.
Judging by the photos, the final design of the SUV has not yet been approved. And in the press release the Bavarians do not actually hide this, which means that the final touches to the design of the X7 can be made later.
The novelty will be produced next to two other BMW crossovers – X5 and X6.
