BMW showed the design of the new 3-SeriesSeptember 27, 2018
BMW has published on Twitter new photos that give an idea of the design of the exterior and interior of the model 3-Series of the next generation. The premiere of new 3 Series will be held on October 2 in the framework of the Paris Motor Show.
One of the images shows that designers of the Bavarian brand decided to abandon the traditional firm “bend of Hoffmeister” in favor of a more angular shape of the rear rack.
It is assumed that BMW published photos of the version with the M340i index, which will be the top version of the model until the appearance of a full “charged” modification of the M3. According to unofficial data, the BMW M340i will be equipped with a three-liter supercharged in-line six-cylinder engine that produces about 365 hp and 500 Nm of torque. The engine is combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The sedan will be available with both front and all-wheel drive xDrive.
Earlier it was reported that the center of gravity of the novelty will decrease by 10 mm, and the weighting along the axes will turn out to be ideal – 50:50. The weight of the BMW 3-Series will be reduced by 55 kg, but the strength of the bodywork and suspension will increase by 15-20%.
Plus, the new BMW 3-Series will receive a completely redesigned suspension – the sedan will be the first production BMW with special “smart” shock absorbers that “continuously and steadily work in accordance with the course of the spring.”
