BMW has published teaser images of its smallest car – 1-Series. The picture shows the standard version of the hatchback in camouflage. Also, the car will be offered in the sedan. The premiere of the novelty will most likely take place at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The development of the machine was carried out for five years. The main competitors of the car are called Mercedes-Benz A-Class and Audi A3.
The car will use the FAAR modular platform. After that, it will increase the internal space and reduce weight. In the cabin of the new items will be a digital dashboard. Also, customers will be offered a version of the M135i with aggressive bumpers and a special grille in the style of the Z4 roadster.
The car will receive a two-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. Power unit will be 302 horsepower. It is the most powerful four-cylinder engine in the BMW lineup. The unit will work in conjunction with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The new 1-Series will be equipped with a front-wheel drive system. In addition, the driver will be available to the system of torque distribution BMW Performance Control, as well as the differential M Sport.
Until the end of the year, sales of the four-door version of the new 8-Series, called the Gran Coupe, will start. The car will receive an increased wheelbase, large wheels and major changes in the interior. Four-door equip 4.4-liter V8 petrol turbo engine with a return of 530 horsepower.
