BMW reaches record sales for ninth consecutive yearJanuary 11, 2020
According to the results of the past year, the BMW Group again reached a record level of sales with the result of 2.52 million cars, which is 1.2% higher than a year ago.
“The company has been confirming its position as the world leader in the premium car sector for the sixteenth year in a row,” the Bavarian brand press service said.
For the ninth consecutive year, BMW has shown record sales. At the end of 2019, BMW set a new historical record for the sale of its cars with an indicator of 2.168 million copies, which is 2% higher than in 2018.
At the same time, the number of sales of the Rolls-Royce brand increased by 25.4% to 5.15 thousand units, and MINI sales decreased by 4.1% to 346.6 thousand units. In addition, 145.8 buyers bought BMW electric cars, which is 2.2% more than in 2018.
In the coming year, the company predicts a “slight increase in global sales”, in particular, due to the worsening economic situation, BMW expects sales growth in the EU to be at the level of the previous year, and rapid growth is expected in China due to localization of production.
