BMW plans to double EV sales in 2021January 15, 2021
The introduction of the BMW iX model will help this brand.
German automaker BMW is set to double its electric car sales in 2021. This brand will help the start of sales of the flagship electric car BMW iX and the sedan BMW i4. In addition, the company will continue to sell last year’s BMW iX3 electric crossover, as well as the battery-powered Mini range.
Earlier it became known that by 2023 BMW is going to launch production of up to 25 environmentally friendly models, of which about half will be fully electric. The report also notes that sales of hybrid models are also planned to increase, but by 50% compared to 2020.
There is no official data on sales of electric cars by BMW in 2020, however, according to insiders, they amounted to approximately 193,000 copies. It is worth noting that the American corporation Tesla sold almost 500,000 electric cars in 2020, which is currently an absolute world record.
