BMW officially unveiled the new 4-seriesJune 3, 2020
BMW presented in an online format the updated 4-series.
Like the previous generation, the 2-door is developed on the basis of the 3-Series Sedan. The length of the model is 4768 mm, the width is 1852 mm, the height is 1383 mm, and the wheelbase is 2851 mm.
If the exterior design, and especially – the front part with a large grille ported from Concept 4, which was shown in 2019, the coupe is significantly different from the sedan, then the interior space is similar. Already in the initial version, the 4-series is equipped with new sports steering wheel and seats, for an additional fee they will offer a set of trim M Sport. Standard cars have a 5.1-inch color display between the gauges and an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
At the beginning of sales, the novelty will be offered with three gasoline and three diesel engines. A total of 7 variations debuted: 420i (184 hp and 300 Nm), 430i (258 hp and 400 Nm), M440i xDrive (374 hp and 500 Nm), 420d (190 hp and 400 Nm), 420d xDrive (190 hp and 400 Nm), 430d xDrive (286 hp and 650 Nm), M440d xDrive (340 hp and 700 Nm).
Like the restyled 5th series, all diesel and gasoline coupes have an 11-horsepower starter generator. Together with all motors, an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission operates. The car is also equipped with laser headlights, a 3-zone air conditioning system, a “Level 2 autopilot”, adaptive suspension, performance brakes, a sports differential and much more.
The 4th series will go on sale in October this year, and, according to Motor1. In the US market, where only gasoline variants will be sold, the cost of 430i starts at $ 45.6 thousand, 430i xDrive – $ 47.6 thousand, M440i xDrive – from 58, 5 thousand dollars.
