BMW officially unveiled the Concept i4March 3, 2020
The BMW Concept i4 debuted the day before its planned opening date.
The Concept i4 is an all-electric concept car, an experimental model that is more than a futuristic show car, which is primarily designed to create exciting lines. Concept i4 acts as a pre-production model of an all-electric i4, ready for production and similar to the Gran Coupe, which will really appear on the market next year.
BMW has already confirmed that the i4, which will be released in Munich in 2021, will receive a battery of 80 kWh, which corresponds to a 600 km WLTP electric mileage. The power plant itself with a capacity of 531 hp It is able to accelerate the car from standstill to a speed of 100 km / h in 4.0 seconds. The maximum speed is 200 km / h, which is not bad for an electric car. A battery with a 150 kW charger can be charged up to 80% of its capacity in about 35 minutes.
The i4 concept has a striking new “radiator grille” that BMW has already shown in the Concept 4 series. Since this concept has a fully electric drive, the radiator grille is closed and acts as a decorative element. Do not be surprised if the future 4-Series Gran Coupé, the usual 4-Series Coupé and Cabrio will also be presented with an appearance that is generally very similar to this Concept i4.
In the interior, which can accommodate four passengers, we see a futuristically designed version of the BMW interior that looks relatively standard. The striking things, of course, are the two large digital displays that take up space behind the steering wheel. The car also has a panoramic roof, and BMW still offers a lever for shifting the mechanical gears of the iDrive system.
