BMW M6 overtook 54 cars on track in one lapAugust 31, 2020
Among the “rivals” of the sports coupe were cars of various classes
British NLS racer David Pittard overtook 54 cars in a BMW M6 GT3 coupe in just one lap on the Nürburgring.
The video clip with the arrival was published by Pittard himself on his YouTube channel. According to him, he left more than fifty cars behind in eight and a half minutes to complete his workout on the track before it started to rain.
However, the race was not entirely fair, as the 585-horsepower racing BMW had to compete with much less fast and expensive cars, including compatriots Opel and Porsche.
The M6 GT3 is powered by a 585 horsepower 4.4-liter twin-turbo eight-cylinder mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox. The racing coupe weighs just 1,300 kilograms – 625 kilograms less than the road-going M6.
For the mysterious BMW M8 prototype that left for the Nurburgring two weeks ago, the race was far less successful. According to eyewitnesses, the car alternately crashed into the fence on both sides of the race track, flew to the side of the road and stopped at a bend. After that, the car was quickly covered with a cover and taken off the track.
