BMW M2 CS went to tests before debutNovember 4, 2019
The new model will be presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
BMW is probably busy preparing its latest M-car. It was previously reported that the M2 version for club sports will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2019 on November 20, 2019.
Nevertheless, a spy video appeared showing how the M2 made several laps in the Nurburgring. Video test items were published on the website Youtube. Apparently, BMW may make some recent changes to the M2 CS before the public premiere of the model.
The new BMW M2 CS will be “phenomenal and behaving like a race car with license plates,” according to BMW CEO Markus Flash. Mr. Flash clarified that the Clubsport M2 will be “the clearest and cleanest BMW M model we have produced in a fairly long time.”
At the same time, expect the M2 CS to be more powerful than the M2 Competition, with a 444 horsepower engine and 550 Newton-meters of torque. However, the M2 CS is expected to have a new S58 engine instead of the old S55.
As for the transmission options, it was reported that the M2 CS will come with both a six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It will also be equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires shod on 19-inch wheels. Of course, the modernization of the chassis and suspension is expected on the top model M2.
Most importantly, the M2 CS will still have a rear-wheel drive configuration, unlike the front-wheel drive Gran Coupe 2 series.
