The famous artist FUTURA 2000 teamed up with a Bavarian company to create a special performance for the high-performance BMW M2 Competition coupe. So far, there is no data on the price of an exclusive novelty, but it is known that the start of car sales is scheduled for this summer.

As part of the BMW Art Car special project, renowned artists from around the world manually paint BMW cars. This tradition began in 1975, when the cult model 3.0 CSL received a colorful livery from the artist Alexander Calder and then took part in the endurance race “24 hours of Le Mans” with it. At the moment, about 19 official art cars adorn the BMW Museum in Munich (Germany), and although this M2 Competition is not so legendary as to be worthy of the official BMW Art Car, but nevertheless, he received the right to join the collection.

The contemporary artist FUTURA 2000 has joined forces with BMW to create three unique versions of the high-performance BMW M2 Competition coupe, hand-painted and with some internal changes.

In addition, the “charged” M2 Competition will also receive a special edition, which will be limited to a circulation of 500 copies, on the bodies of which exclusive graffiti will be applied, and on the thresholds will be a personal painting of the artist. Prices for the original BMW M2 Competition have not yet been disclosed, but it goes without saying that the increase in price will be considerable. It is worth noting that in their homeland in Germany, this car costs at least $ 58,900. We know that on sale, the painted novelty will arrive in June this year.

What is so special about these cars? The front and rear of the cars, along with the side sills, are painted manually. Cars will receive 19-inch alloy wheels with Jet Black trim. Inside, the center console and dashboard have special trim levels with a unique design created by the artist FUTURA 2000, and the two-tone Dakota leather seats with black and ivory trim have a contrasting Polar Blue stitch. Cars also get a sports steering wheel covered in leather and Alcantara with gray marking at 12 o’clock.
