BMW M2 Competition set a record for cutting bambooAugust 21, 2018
The BMW M2 Competition has set a new record. With the help of a double-door blade fastened to the rear bumper, I was able to cut a bamboo mat folded into a tube in a semi-circle shape in a minute. The previous record was 87 rugs. Thus, the manufacturer again tried to demonstrate the maneuverability and controllability of the car.
To establish the record used a fully-mass-produced car equipped with a three-liter twin-turbo “six” S55 from M3 / M4. The unit produces 410 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque and can be combined with a six-speed manual or an optional seven-speed robotic transmission with two clutches. From zero to 100 km/h, a two-door can accelerate in 4.2 seconds (4.4 seconds with a manual gearbox).
Earlier, BMW M2 Competition set a new Guinness record for the number of laser-cut balloons. For one minute the car destroyed 79 balls, improving the previous achievement of Ashrit Furman, who in 2016 burst 63 balls.
For a record-breaking race, the M2 Competition sports car was equipped with a powerful laser pointer Spyder III Krypton. According to the manufacturer, with its help in one minute, you can destroy up to 100 balls, if you install them one by one.
