BMW iX3: electric SUV spotted in Munich on tesApril 23, 2019
The first all-electric BMW SUV was spotted in Munich during routine road tests. The model is clearly built on the basis of the standard X3 and will be available next year.
In Munich, a camouflaged prototype of the BMW iX3 electric crossover was seen at road tests. The model will be the first all-electric SUV of the Bavarian brand, and the first model that will cover all segments: internal combustion engines, hybrids and electric cars. The electric version is based on the standard X3 crossover.
Despite the camouflage, now we can say that the iX3 will be different new design of the grille and bumper. The grille will be closed with plugs, or will receive a reduced capacity, and will provide cooling for the battery.
A 70 kW * hour battery will be used as the power source. Estimated power reserve will be about 400 km on the full reserve. Under the hood will install an electric motor with a capacity of about 270 horsepower.
Another feature of the BMW iX3 crossover will be a fast charging system with a maximum capacity of up to 150 kW. This will allow the battery to charge up to 80% in just 30 minutes.
