BMW iX3 electric crossover unveiled ahead of scheduleApril 27, 2020
Two photos of the BMW iX3 appeared on the net, which reveal the design of the serial version of the electric crossover. Completely the same novelty should be presented a little later.
Pictures were posted on scott26.unofficial Instagram’s “dubious” account, however, BMW sources described the photos as “credible” to electrive.com. In addition, the car looks quite realistic on them and meets all expectations.
The photos depict a white all-terrain vehicle, which is almost completely identical to the conceptual iX3 introduced in China in 2018. It is also significantly similar to the usual X3: the electrocross has other “nostrils” of the false radiator grille (they are separated by a chrome strip), many blue accents on the body and the so-called aerodynamic wheels with a special pattern.
The electric BMW iX3 will debut in 2020, then it will begin to be produced at a factory in China. The crossover will be rear-wheel drive, the engine output will be 286 hp. and 440 Nm. The engine will power a battery with a capacity of 74 kWh, it is designed for a power reserve of 440 km according to the WLTP cycle.
By the way, BMW has a fairly extensive electromobile program. Following the BMW iX3, a larger electric crossover should appear, which is likely to get the name iX5, as well as the i4 sedan. In total, Bavarians are going to introduce 11 electric cars by 2023.
