BMW iX variants will differ in power and batterySeptember 12, 2020
BMW’s upcoming electric crossover, formerly known as iNext, will hit the market with the iX or iX designation with a number. Such information on Saturday, September 12, was shared by the BMW Blog agency.
The novelty will acquire two or three variations, which will differ from each other in the power reserve. The “younger” version, according to insiders, will be able to travel more than 400 km on a single charge, and the “older” version – 600 – 620 km in the WLTP cycle. In addition, the new electric car will be offered in three different performance options: 308, 522 and 610 hp.
The new model, in particular, will receive a curved screen and a multi-angle steering wheel, as well as details of BMW Natural Interaction – certain functions can be controlled using the original “smart” surfaces. The Vision iNext prototype had a sensory wood and fabric, some of which may appear in the series.
Finally, the novelty should get the Intelligent Glass Control system from Continental. In it, both a panoramic roof and side windows and a rear one can be electrochromic. As for the timing of the appearance of the new electric crossover, it should debut next summer. The production of the electric car will be set up at the German-brand plant in Dingolfing, Germany.
In addition, it was recently noted that an updated BMW M4 GTS coupe was noticed during testing. It should be emphasized that the most productive variation of the coupe has acquired a unique arrangement of exhaust pipes.
