BMW is preparing to introduce the new BMW iX3 SUV
July 9, 2020The Bavarian automaker has launched an advertising company dedicated to the upcoming debut of the BMW iX3 electric crossover.
In a series of posts on Facebook and Instagram, the automaker said it was “about to shed light” on the world’s first iX3. Of course, this kind of intrigue is rather meaningless, since BMW partially showed the crossover in March, and in May it was completely declassified.
Like the iX3 demo, the production model has a unique front panel with a fully enclosed grille. The electric crossover also receives a modified front bumper with vertical air intakes, aerodynamic wheels and air vents on the front wing with the āiā logo.
Already there is information that the iX3 will be the first to receive fifth-generation eDrive technology, which allows placing the electric motor, transmission and power electronics in a single module, as well as traction batteries with NMC 811 cathodes.
Cross will be presented with one electric motor, which will be located on the rear axle. Its return is 286 hp. and 400 Nm of torque. A 74 kilowatt-hour traction battery will make it possible to demonstrate a nominal 440 km mileage (WLTP).
Following the BMW iX3, the flagship electric iNext SUV and i4 sedan will appear on the market. By the end of 2023, the company plans to release 11 models with electric power plants.
