BMW introduced the updated crossover X1 2020 model year
May 29, 2019The Bavarian novelty received minor updates – the branded false radiator grille became larger, and the front bumper more square. Price data not yet available. The start of sales of the crossover is scheduled for the end of this year.
We first saw how BMW is testing a prototype of a new version of its smallest crossover last summer. Now we can see all the updates as they are – the press service of the company has published detailed information about the refreshed BMW X1. The car received slightly different front and rear exterior elements that match the current BMW styling. Modest interior upgrades complement the same minor exterior changes.
New body colors as well as an extended list of available options became available to buyers.
From the updated exterior, it is worth noting the enlarged “nostrils” of the false radiator grille. Headlights are equipped with optional LED modules. The updated X1 has now become more similar to the brand’s larger crossovers – the X5 and X7.
On the rear door are upgraded L-shaped tail lights with almost the same lower lining. The M Sport will bring an updated aerodynamic body kit that includes a diffuser, long side skirts, and a more aggressive front bumper. It is also worth noting the new 18-and 19-inch wheels with Y-shaped spokes.
Under the hood is the same power plant as before – we are talking about a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 228 horsepower. Torque is transmitted to the front wheels or to all four at once using an eight-speed automatic transmission.
