BMW introduced the hybrid crossover BMW X5 xDrive45e in FrankfurtSeptember 10, 2019
Sales in Europe of the new hybrid version with the X5 plug-in with the XDrive45e prefix, which uses fourth-generation eDrive technology, have already started.
The X5 is based on a 3.0-liter in-line engine with 282 hp, which in combination with the xDrive45e is combined with a 110-hp electric motor. The total return of such a power plant is 388 hp. power and 600 Nm of torque.
Power is supplied to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the charging port is located on the left front wing. Apart from this and some badges, nothing distinguishes the X5 xDrive45e from its siblings.
BMW claims that accelerating this version of the crossover to 100 km / h takes just 5.6 seconds and a top speed of 235 km / h. Use the special EV mode, and the German SUV will overcome 67–87 km exclusively on electric traction, its maximum speed is limited to 135 km / h.
The new product uses a 24 kW lithium-ion battery and the latest generation of power electronics for more intelligent energy management and increased efficiency. The luggage compartment is 150 liters less than the traditional X5 models, but it still has a volume of 500 liters, with all the seats upright.
As standard, the X5 hybrid is equipped with air suspension and electronically controlled shock absorbers, and as an option is offered with all-wheel drive. It also has acoustic protection for pedestrians – the crossover makes a sound to warn pedestrians nearby about their presence when it runs silently on one electric energy.
