BMW introduced a special version of the M8 Individual Manufaktor EditionSeptember 13, 2019
The new BMW M8 was released for Canada in the amount of only 20 copies.
A special version of the 2020 M8 was introduced in Canada. It will be released in just 20 pieces, 10 of them in Fiery Red and 10 in Frozen Black. Although it might seem that this special edition was introduced just to launch the new M machine, it has a connection with the brand’s history.
In the early 1990s, BMW secretly developed the M8 wide-body prototype, painted in bright red. The German car manufacturer refused to acknowledge the existence of the car until 2010, and this is certainly a rather mythical car in the history of M.
Special Canadian models of Individual Manufaktor Edition do not just have a special color. All 20 units come complete with a variety of M Performance parts, including carbon fiber parts for the kidney grille, air intake, side skirts, rear diffuser and lip spoiler. As for the interior, there is only one trim configuration that includes full merino leather trimmed in Sakhir Orange and Black with contrasting stitching in Sakhir Orange.
Owners of the limited-edition model will be reminded that they are driving something special thanks to the inscription “BMW Individual Manufaktor” on the carbon cup holder and the lid of the tray for charging a cordless phone.
In addition, the machine is mechanically identical to the standard M8 Competition. This means that it is equipped with a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 delivering 617 hp. and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque. Prices start at $ 198,000 CAD ($149,800 US at current exchange rates)
