BMW i4 will be able to argue with Tesla Model 3July 2, 2019
The future electric-powered sedan from the Bavarian company will finally catch up with Tesla cars. The power reserve will be about 500-600 km, the cost will be in the range of 50,000 dollars, and sales will begin in 2021.
Bavarian BMW, as well as other global manufacturers, are actively preparing for the electrification of their model line. One of the most awaited new products for BMW fans and electric cars will be the i4 sedan. This is the first car with an electric drive, able to compete on equal terms with the Tesla Model 3 model. At least, preliminary information makes you think about it.
The upcoming BMW i4 sedan will be built on the well-known modular platform CLAR, created with the possibility of using classic internal combustion engines, hybrids and electric motors. Most likely, the company will install one electric motor on each axle. The electric car will be positioned as a sports sedan.
In the sale will be several versions with different power and power reserve. The top-end equipment is likely to get a power reserve in the range of 500-600 km, as well as an acceleration rate of up to 100 kmh in 4 seconds.
The car will be available in the second half of 2021 as a model for 2022. The cost of a BMW i4 will be about $ 50,000.
