BMW i4 first details: 530 HP, 627 km power reserve
November 15, 2019The first information about the BMW electric four-door coupe appeared much earlier. But then there were only rumors. Now there are official details about the technical specifications.
The serial BMW i4 will not be available for sale until 2021. Production will be established in Germany. As follows from the new information, the model will receive an advanced BMW EV transmission with a capacity of about 530 horsepower (390 kW). A battery of 80 kW * hours will be used as a power source, which will ensure a range of up to 627 km and acceleration to 100 kph in 4 seconds.
Nevertheless, we also expect the release of more “simple” versions with lesser motor power and smaller batteries. In the future, you can expect the appearance of a younger configuration with a battery of 60 kW * hours. In addition, it became known that the BMW i4 will receive the latest fifth-generation batteries.
As for the quick charge system, then everything is fine. The future electric car will be able to replenish energy from 150 kW stations. This will allow you to charge the battery up to 80% in just 35 minutes. In 6 minutes, the car is able to recharge a charge of 100 km.
The cost, configuration and list of additional options, of course, is still unknown. More details will be available as part of the presentation of the production version, which may take place next year.
