BMW hinted at the presentation of a new modelJuly 26, 2018
This car could well be the long-awaited updated version of the 2-seat roadster Z4. Note that this model is the closest relative of the new version of the Japanese legend – Toyota Supra coupe. As the venue for the presentation of the mysterious car selected California (USA).
The speed festival in Goodwood (UK) is over, but now we are waiting for the start of an important motor show Monterey Car Week in California (USA) in the hope that the Bavarian automotive brand will finally present a new version of its 2-seat BMW Z4 roadster.
Why do we think so? The fact is that the Japanese brand Toyota introduced the closest relative to the German roadster – a new version of the legendary Supra model, most recently, the show was held in Goodwood (Great Britain). Well, a statement by the company’s press service that a new BMW car will be shown in California has only strengthened our confidence that we will finally see the new Z4.
“What kind of model we are planning to present in California, we will tell more closely to the press conference,” – said in a recent statement by BMW. “It’s enough to say that this new model will certainly be an emotional addition to the current BMW lineup.”
We have already seen countless “spyware” photos, patent images and disguised teasers that were dedicated to the German roadster. Since the new version of the Toyota Supra is a close relative of the BMW Z4, the Bavarian automaker should follow the example of the Japanese brand and present its novelty in the summer – and why not choose Pebble Beach for this?
Last month, BMW released a teaser video, which featured a camouflaged Z4 M40i roadster. It was reported that the car will be equipped with an “extremely powerful” in-line 6-cylinder engine, a working volume of 3.0 liters. The German novelty can also get a less powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, which is rumored to be also offered for the new Supra.
Finally we want to note that the Bavarian brand BMW also plans to present in the near future the BMW M850i Coupe and the BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe, which will become representatives of the new flagship family, the 8 Series.
