BMW has started tests of the updated 7 series sedanJuly 18, 2018
The upcoming crossover BMW X7 will be the SUV equivalent of the flagship 7 Series sedan, so it’s no surprise that both models will use the revised radiator grille with significantly larger vertical bars. The flagship sedan of the German company was caught in the camera of foreign journalists – these pictures we received only a couple of hours ago.
In addition to the ribbed grille, it is worth noting the new front bumper, which turned out to be quite aggressive – in particular thanks to it, the car receives a unique sporty atmosphere, which is reinforced by the exhaust pipe system. BMW engineers also made some changes to the appearance of the headlights and tail lights, the latter being given a new design.
Although we can not look into the salon of the long-awaited novelty, we can clearly see that the instrument panel remains partially hidden under the black pieces of cloth. This can only mean that BMW has changed the interior of its flagship sedan. In the salon, we expect to find an updated digital instrument panel and the latest version of the infotainment system.
Note that all these elements of the new 7 Series sedan were officially announced in mid-April and debuted in the production version of the new 8 Series coupe. Crossover X7 will probably receive the same interior with all its chips.
It is still clear and unclear when a high-performance version of the novelty with the nameplate M will be presented. Although several months ago, BMW representatives repeatedly said that a similar version of the car would be issued. In this case, the car make direct competition to another German luxury sedan Mercedes-AMG S63.
According to rumors, the production of the updated 7 Series sedan will begin in March 2019, and one of the first versions of the novelty, which will be available, will become a hybrid version of the 745e – it will replace the today’s 740e.
