BMW has postponed the premiere of the new M3 and M4November 2, 2019
It is definitely not worth waiting for the appearance of the BMW M3 sedan and the new generation M4 coupe earlier than at the end of next year.
According to the head of the BMW M division Marcus Flash, Motoring told the BMW M3 sedan and the BMW M4 coupe will debut no earlier than a year later. At the end of 2020, it is planned to start mass production of sports cars, and customers will begin to receive the first assembled cars at the beginning of 2021. What caused such a long period of preparation for the production of new Bavarian M-series, Flash did not report. But he said that the new M3 and M4 will receive versions with both full and rear-wheel drive, as well as that today it is very rare with a manual gearbox.
The traditional eight-speed “automatic”, of course, will remain in the list of options. At the same time, the head of the BMW M confirmed that the spy picture recently published on the Internet really shows the rear of the new generation M3 – it was a pre-production copy of the sedan assembled for testing. Was there a gray car with huge “nostrils” prototype M4, one can only guess. The new M-series will receive a motor from the BMW X3 M and X4 M – a three-liter “six” with a capacity of 480 horsepower in the basic configuration and 510 in the Competition version.
