BMW has posted a teaser for the 2-Series Gran CoupeMarch 20, 2019
BMW says that the serial version of the 2-Series Gran Coupe will be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, and by mid-2020 the car will go on sale worldwide.
After several episodes of “spyware” snapshots and one render for a Bavarian novelty, it’s time for the first time to look at the 2 Series Gran Coupe, using official images. BMW’s late response to the updated Mercedes-Benz CLA-class coupe is a “sporty, elegant, extravagant car” – this is what is written on the official Facebook page of the brand. So far we offer to look at the taillights of new items.
Well, the spoiler on the trunk lid indicates that this is not the usual version of the Gran Coupe 2-Series, but its high-performance performance from M Performance.
We expect the 2-Series Gran Coupe to be introduced next month, presumably in conceptual form, either at the Shanghai (China) Auto Show or at the New York Auto Show. In the end, BMW introduced the 4-door version of its current flagship 8-Series first as a concept. With the BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe the same thing can happen.
According to the latest information, the model with higher performance will receive the M235i index. It will be equipped with a 300-horsepower engine and an 8-step “automatic” as standard equipment, like the X2 M35i crossover.
In the official press release of the lordly brand, it is also said that the 1-Series hatchback of the new generation should be presented later this year.
