The press service of the Bavarian brand also published data on the most powerful performance of the new generation hetchekche 1-Series. BMW will officially show the 1 Series at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and the start of sales will start before the end of the year.

Automakers tend to use the term “brand new” whenever it comes to the next generation of the model, and although in most cases this is not entirely true, it can be said that this time we are dealing with an exception. Designed from scratch, the third-generation BMW 1-series represents a huge step forward compared to its predecessor, thanks in part to the transition to a front-wheel-drive platform.

The design of the car has undergone quite a lot of changes both inside and outside. The new 1st series is equipped with an increased false radiator grille. The novelty has become shorter by 5 mm – now the length is 4,319 mm. The width has increased to 1,799 mm (+ 34 mm), and the height has increased by 13 mm and is now 1,434 mm. The wheelbase was shortened by 20 mm – 2 670 mm.

Converted headlights have become smoother than before, and give the compact hatchback a “fresh” look.

For an additional fee you can get adaptive LED headlights. Depending on the configuration, there are several configurations of the front bumper.

The side profile got a slight change. The flat “waist line” gradually moves up as it moves from the front doors to the rear doors, which provides a more dynamic silhouette. Different alloy wheels in sizes from 16 to 19 inches will be available. In addition, you can order and optional large panoramic glass roof.

To begin with, the new product will be available with a pair of gasoline engines and three diesel engines, as well as a powerful 2.0-liter engine installed in the M135i xDrive. The latter develops 302 hp (450 Nm). As a transmission, an 8-speed automatic was proposed. Acceleration of the “charged” M135i xDrive to 100 km / h takes 4.8 seconds. Starting in November, the M135i will be additionally offered with the M Performance package. As expected, the maximum speed will be electronically limited to 250 km / h.
