BMW equips convertible 4-Series fabric roofApril 16, 2020
The Bavarian automaker began testing its updated convertible, thanks to which it was possible to find out some details about the model.
In the near future, BMW will present an updated version of the BMW 4-Series in coupe and cabriolet bodies, which, along with the Gran Coupe, will receive a revised front with an already pretty radiator grill. The only good news for fans of the brand and convertibles is that the automaker decided to use a fabric roof instead of a hard folding top.
The transition from metal to fabric top should be beneficial for the car in terms of practicality – the rear row of seats and the trunk space will increase, because the soft top will take up significantly less space when folded. Also, the model will benefit by reducing weight.
The engine range of the BMW 4-Series convertible will be composed of gasoline and diesel units, including a 3.0 liter engine for the most powerful version of the M4 – here its output can be 450 to 480 hp. At the same time, BMW previously stated that the choice between a manual and automatic transmission, as well as rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, will be available for the new M3 and M4.
