BMW demonstrated electric cross iX3July 14, 2020
BMW introduced the serial version of the iX3 electric crossover. Recall that the concept of the model debuted in April 2018.
At the same time, the production version is almost an exact copy of the prototype shown at the Beijing Auto Show, right down to the design of these aero wheels, which reduce drag coefficient by 5%.
Smooth wheels contribute to a relatively low drag coefficient of an electric SUV – 0.29. This indicator was achieved, in particular, due to the installation of a closed radiator grill and underbody to reduce wind resistance. Although the novelty is built on the basis of the X3, its ground clearance is 7.5 cm lower than that of the gasoline crossover.
The iX3 is equipped with a single electric motor with a capacity of 282 hp. and 400 Nm of torque, which drives the rear wheels. The electric car accelerates to 60 mph (96 km / h) in 6.8 seconds.
The maximum speed of the electric car is 180 km / h. In addition, the model has a battery capacity of 80 kW / h, which provides autonomy of 460 km through the WLTP cycle. As noted in BMW, using fast charging, the battery can be replenished to 80% in 34 minutes. The German company made a calculation and concluded that 10 minutes of charging is equivalent to 100 km of power reserve.
The appearance of the BMW iX3 in the market is expected before the end of this year. Production of new items will be established at the Chinese enterprise of the German brand.
In addition, recently a rare BMW M6 with a shark nose was put up for sale. The condition of the car is excellent, the cost is only 50,000 dollars
