BMW can build a new plant in the USNovember 29, 2018
The construction of the BMW plant in the US is now in the early stages of planning. BMW car sales in North America, and especially in the United States, continue to grow and the Bavarian company is considering measures to increase its profits.
One of the most important ways to do this is the new plant based in the United States, where today gearboxes and motors are manufactured.
The director general of the company, Harald Krueger, told the media representatives on the first day of the Los Angeles Auto Show.
“We assume that negotiations at the company are at the earliest stages, and the final decision will not be taken before 12 months or so,” – says Kruger.
The only BMW factory in the US is currently Spartanburg – a global production site for SUVs X4, X5, X6 and X7. Other non-SUV models are imported into the United States from different locations.
Another brand in North America is in Mexico, where the new 3-series will be available next year.
Meanwhile, BMW also plans to invest around € 1 billion in a new plant not far from Derbecen in Hungary. Once this is done, she will be able to collect at least 150,000 motorists per year and hire more than 1,000 people.
Also, BMW’s chief executive in Los Angeles, Kruger, commented on the UK’s decision to leave the European Union and stated that it supported the current plan of Brexit by British Prime Minister Teresa May.
