The company BMW has started the final tests of the crossover X5. Photo shooters managed to shoot a car during road tests in Germany. The pictures were published by Motor1. The premiere of the novelty will take place in the near future, and it will compete with the Mercedes GLE. The car will not become the company’s flagship. In 2018 will be released crossover X7, which will lead the model range of the German brand.
Judging by the spy photos, the X5 crossover will receive a large radiator grille, new LED lights and other air intakes. Also, the machine will be equipped with an upgraded multimedia system, a gesture and voice control system, and an autonomous parking function.
The novelty will be built on the CLAR platform. Thanks to this, the car will become noticeably lighter than the previous generation crossover. The range of engines of the future X5 will include four-, six-, and eight-cylinder engines. Also, the car will receive a hybrid modification and a “charged” version of the M, with a capacity of about 600 horsepower.
As for the X7, the production of this car should begin before the end of this year. The main competitors are the newcomers Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Audi Q7 and Cadillac Escalade. Bavarians intend to sell for 45 thousand BMW X7. As previously reported, the price of the car can be about 130 thousand euros.
