The Bavarian automaker has introduced in its official price lists a new version for the 3-Series 2020 sedan and station wagon model year. We are talking about the flagship configuration of the M340d xDrive with a diesel engine.

Rumors were true – Europe gets the most powerful diesel version of the BMW 3-Series 2020 from M Performance. We are talking about the M340d, which will be available not only for the station wagon, as originally intended, but also for the sedan. The published photos look like screenshots from the online configurator and show a couple of sedans along with a station wagon, the design of which is almost identical to similar models performed by the M340i – a gasoline engine.

While the gasoline M Performance in the 3rd series can be equipped with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive depending on the market, it seems that the most powerful diesel version of the car will receive all-wheel drive – the xDrive system.

In the case of the sedan, the time to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h will take 4.6 seconds, while for the station wagon this figure will be an additional two tenths of a second due to slightly larger weight. Both body styles will come with an electronic top speed limiter programmed to accelerate to 250 km / h.

┬áIt is reported that the M340d xDrive sedan will spend an average of 5.3 to 5.7 liters per 100 kilometers, while the station wagon will require an additional 0.1 liters. Both versions of the 3 Series are equipped with the function “engine run-out”, operating at speeds up to 160 km / h.

Under the hood of the new version of the BMW 3-Series 2020 sedan and station wagon, there is a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine rated at 340 horsepower. Torque has been increased to 700 Nm.
