BMW 8-Series Gran Coupe revealed before the official debutJune 14, 2019
Real official photos of the four-door coupe 8-Series finally appeared on the Web. The car retained its sophisticated features, but became somewhat longer and more massive. Now Porsche Panamera and Mercedes-Benz CLS have worthy competitors.
Last year, BMW expanded its model line with the revived 8-Series coupe. It was the most luxurious car in the company’s lineup, and, apparently, the idea gave its results. Now the only model turns into a whole family with a convertible and a four-door version of the Gran Coupe.
The web has published the first real photos of the novelty, on which the BMW 8-Series Gran Coupe is completely revealed. The official and public debut will be held at a special event at the end of June this year. Judging from the photo, the model will fully preserve the style of the two-door coupe, but will be longer due to the stretched wheelbase. This allowed us to make normal rear doors and a comfortable second row.
As a power unit will be offered with a 4.4-liter V8 turbo engine capable of developing up to 530 horsepower, as well as with a 320-horsepower 3.0-liter turbo diesel. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system XDrive.
In the market, the model will compete with the Porsche Panamera and Mercedes-Benz CLS. All models are in the same class. In the 8-series lineup, the Gran Coupe will be the third version, and the most expensive. The price tag is not reported.
