BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe: published the first imageFebruary 28, 2018
The Bavarian manufacturer published a teaser of the flagship four-door coupe.
BMW has posted a new teaser of the 8 Series Gran Coupe on the official Facebook page. The picture shows the profile of the car. No details yet, but there is a short comment to the teaser: “Stay tuned. More to come in Geneva next week ».
If you look closely, you can see the “seam” of the end of the tailgate. Compared to the previous concept of the BMW 8 Series, the four-door sedan’s sideglass visually looks longer. The streamlined, smoothly falling roof gives the car a dynamic and sporty look, but probably with damage to the space in the head area of the rear passengers. Although, perhaps, the renderer is intended to demonstrate the key components of the design, but in reality the car will look easier.
Most likely, the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe, which will bring to Geneva, will be presented in the status of the concept, serving as a prototype of the production model. As expected, the car will receive a V8 engine (S63) with a capacity of 4.4 liters complete with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system. The estimated engine power is 600 hp, and the acceleration time from zero to the first 100 km/h is about three seconds.
The debut of the new BMW 8 Series coupe will be held in 2018, and sales of the model will begin near the end of the year. By the way, recently we published the first official photos of the flagship coupe, made during the tests on the Italian track Aprilia.
