BMW 5 Series test with plug-inJuly 18, 2019
The BMW 5 Series has been upgraded in the middle of a life cycle. A hybrid version of the sedan, marked with a sticker “Hybrid Test Vehicle” on the front doors and rear bumper, recently brought to testing.
The BMW 5 Series will receive new LED daytime running lights that resemble lighting elements for the latest version of the BMW 3 Series. Taillights come with updated graphics. The front bumper will be reworked, the front grille will change, which can grow in size. The rear is securely camouflaged, indicating a new rear bumper. The blue brake calipers and the M badge on the front fender indicate that this is the M Sport version.
A new dashboard and the latest version of the iDrive infotainment system will appear in the cabin.
The hybrid will also receive a battery with the latest technology, which will increase the range in a fully electric mode. As standard equipment, an acoustic pedestrian protection function will be offered, which makes a sound to alert pedestrians when an electrified model approaches.
The premiere of the updated BMW 5 Series is likely to take place next year.
