BMW 5 Series Sedan introduced by Carbon EditionMay 3, 2019
In the US, an additional “package” called Carbon Edition will be available soon. It is specifically designed for luxury sports sedans in the 530i / 530i xDrive and 540i / 540i xDrive. Its price is equal to 4,668 dollars, the start of sales is scheduled for the second quarter of this year.
Our good friends from the foreign edition of Bimmer Post learned that the division of the Bavarian brand in the United States will soon launch an additional “package” for sale, which was specifically designed for the luxury sports sedans BMW 5 Series in the 530i / 530i xDrive and 540i / 540i xDrive.
As the name implies, the Carbon Edition will be mainly devoted to various carbon fiber updates from the extensive M Performance catalog.
There are chips like a front splitter, a front spoiler, a rear diffuser and a trunk lid spoiler – they are all made of this lightweight and at the same time high-strength material. There will also be a set of exclusive stickers and a matte black rear bumper trim. Needless to say, there is also the Carbon Edition badge, meaning that it is not the usual 5 Series sedan.
The Carbon Edition also comes with some necessary hardware updates, such as brake discs and 19-inch alloy wheels. A black Dakota leather with blue stitching will appear in the cabin.
Bimmer Post says that the whole “package” will cost about 4,668 dollars and will be available for purchase in the second quarter of this year.
Finally, I note that the seventh generation mid-size BMW 5 Series sedan has been on the market for less than three years, so the middle cycle update will probably not be presented until the second half of 2020 or the beginning of 2021.
