BMW 4 Series tests M Performance detailsApril 22, 2020
Photo spies made a new series of slightly more revealing shots of the 2021 coupe model year.
This is not a typical BMW 4 Series, as it is equipped with a range of M Performance elements, including a front splitter and harnesses, as well as aerodynamic side skirts, more pronounced than on the standard model. It seems that no other changes have occurred, since the wheels and brakes seem to be the same as those used in previous prototypes of the M440i.
If the 4 Series repeats a similar sedan, then the coupe can also expect a rear diffuser tinted taillights, carbon tailpipes, carbon fiber covers and a carbon fiber rear spoiler M Performance Parts. In addition, the model can get a more powerful brake system, a set of brand wheels, M Performance plates, as well as the M Performance steering wheel, special floor mats and several carbon fiber components in the cabin.
No matter which elements are installed, the 4 Series will have many powerplant options, including a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine developing 255 hp. and torque of 400 Nm. The M440i version, on the other hand, will have a 382 hp 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine. and a torque of 500 Nm.
The new M4 will receive a 3.0-liter M TwinPower Turbo engine with 473 hp. and 599 Nm of torque. If this is not enough, the Competition option will increase this number to 503 hp.
